Death is imminent, but glory lies in the eternal.
No one can think about escaping from the jaws of death. Death is surely a great leveler, but the soul that is set free is a silent reminder that death is not the end of it all. So, aim for the glory that lies in the eternal and not set your eyes on the temporal and fleeting pleasures that are beckoning you.
Such carnal pleasures leave a dent in your spirit, rendering it contrite. Living the life of a recluse, shunning all the pleasures of life is really not your calling but you should be prepared not to over-indulge in the misleading and confusing aspects of life. As Shakespeare put it, you are dust and should return to dust, but this was not spoken of your soul. There is surely a continuum from death to eternity.
